Jesse Dixon Claims Glory as PMP Excels Produce Epic Battles at QRDC Round 3

Jesse Dixon emerged as the standout star of QRDC Round 3, taking home bragging rights after a commanding performance in the highly competitive PMP Excel Series at Queensland Raceway.

The weekend got off to a flying start on Saturday morning with qualifying. Dixon threw down an impressive 1:30.101 to snatch pole position, narrowly beating Thomas Manwaring (1:30.243) and Caleb Paterson (1:30.740). The top of the grid was incredibly tight, signalling that fans were in for some serious racing action.

The format for the round was a true test of both speed and endurance. Competitors tackled a demanding schedule featuring:

  • A 10-lap sprint race
  • A gruelling 40-lap solo endurance race on Saturday
  • A 15-lap sprint race on Sunday
  • Another epic 40-lap solo endurance to close out the weekend

Dixon showed blistering pace and consistency right from the start, powering to victory in the first three races. His ability to maintain strong lap times across both sprint and endurance formats was impressive to watch.

The highlight of the weekend came in the final 40-lap endurance race, where Thomas Manwaring produced a brilliant drive to secure his first ever victory in the PMP Excel Series. It was a well-deserved win and capped off an exciting weekend for the whole field.

Throughout all four races, the racing was fierce and incredibly close. The PMP Excel grid delivered wheel-to-wheel action and hard-fought battles from the front of the pack right through to the back, with drivers battling for every position lap after lap. The night portions of the endurance races added an extra layer of drama under the Queensland Raceway lights.

Final Overall Points for the Round:

  • 1st – Jesse Dixon – 195 points
  • 2nd – Ashton Edwards – 162 points
  • 3rd – Fraser Sturges – 154 points

Caleb Paterson, Pat Trappett, Billy Parrish, Benjamin Sale, and many others also turned in strong performances across the weekend, highlighting the depth and competitiveness of the class.

A massive congratulations to all 30 competitors who took part — you delivered an outstanding show that had spectators entertained from start to finish. The sportsmanship and level of racing in the PMP Excels continues to set a high bar for the rest of the QRDC categories.

With Round 3 now complete, all eyes turn to Round 4 – the PMP Excels Enduro Cup. The action is set to be even bigger, and best of all, it will be broadcast live on Blendline TV!
