The best way for a driver to guarantee a spot in the event is to book online. Entries are capped at 50 drivers per group for the night, spectators $20 per person. $100 per driver for main track.
Friday Night Drift is so much more than just four jam-packed hours of sideways action across two circuit layouts run simultaneously. It’s a social event, a community gathering based around the love of cars and all things drifting.
At least once a month, Friday Night Drift brings some of the best drivers in Queensland for a show of tyre smoke and engine noise making while also giving beginners & new-comers the chance to get behind the wheel of their own car to put their driving to the test. Queensland Raceway is the place to be on a Friday night with plenty of action for spectators and plenty of track time for drivers.
On main track, we will alternate between 2 groups which are divided by driver ability. Group A (Experienced) & Group B (Beginner) each group is capped at 50 entrants. By introducing groups we aim to give drivers more consistent track time & better value for money! This means:
- Shorter wait time at start lines due to capped numbers
- Ample time between sessions for drivers to change tyres etc
- Consistent runs for drivers
- less disruptions for experienced drivers & more space for beginners to feel comfortable
Gates open at 4pm. Driver’s names & pre-purchased spectator tickets will be listed at the gate when they arrive. Spectator tickets can be purchased at the gate.
Drivers will proceed to the container to complete the sign-on process. Showing our staff their competitors’ licence and photo ID, they will then receive a wrist band.
Briefings will start from 4:30pm, drivers must attend a briefing, once completed they will be given a second wrist band.
Passengers will need to fill out a passenger indemnity form and show staff their photo ID to receive their wrist band.
Pitlane exit will open at 6:00pm, drivers and passengers should have their wristbands visible as they leave the lane.
The pit lane will close at 9:30-10pm (depending on schedule) bringing an end to the action on the main track.

Queensland Raceway in conjunction with On Track Drift brings to you a new driver enhancement segment for Friday Night Drift!
What does this entail?
Learn the QR scrutineering regulations and ask questions to improve car set up in our car bay area.
From here we head to the short track to complete a linked figure 8 with professional stunt and drift instructors. This will help refine your transitions and improve linking on the large track. Which means less car damage and less track damage.
This new area is offered to all skill levels of drivers however the first session will be for those new to Friday night drift. All new drivers must complete the program before heading to main track.
No trains are allowed during this event. Single runs and tandems only.
Passengers are not allowed during tandems.
There is to be no drifting in Turn 6 from crossover.
The start lines and run-ups are shorter compared to other events and are more suitable for beginner drivers.
