How old do I have to be to drive a V8 Race Experience car?

To be eligible to drive one of our V8 Race Experience cars you need to hold a minimum of a current learner’s licence and 50 logbook hours. We recommend that you do not nominate to drive one of our vehicles unless you are confident in driving a manual car, as you need to be able to concentrate on what the in-car coach is saying to you during the experience, rather than worry about basic gear changes. Under 18’s will need permission from a parent/legal guardian. The legal guardian will need to sign our consent form and provide photo ID and a Medicare card listing themselves and the minor.

How old do I have to be a passenger in a V8 Race Experience car?

The minimum age for passengers is 7 years old, they must also be over 120cm in height. Under 18’s will need permission from a parent/legal guardian. The legal guardian will need to sign our consent form and provide photo ID and a Medicare card listing themselves and the minor.

Can friends and family come to watch the experience?

You are welcome to bring as many people along with you to watch your experience on the day as you would like, however, all spectators are required to observe the action from the designated viewpoints allocated by our staff.

Do I need to book in advance, or can I just show up on the day?

All bookings must be made before the event day. To participate in the V8 Race Experience please ensure that you have booked your time and event.

I have never driven a manual before. Would I still be able to drive a V8 Race Experience car?

If you are not able to drive a manual car confidently you will struggle driving our V8 Race Experience cars. You are more than welcome to participate in the experience as a passenger to one of our qualified instructors if you are not confident driving yourself. On request we do have an automatic car that can be made available for participants who wish to drive it.
